XVA specializes in contemporary art from the Arab world and Iran. Its exhibition program includes works by emerging, mid-career and established artists who are responding to their local environments in thought provoking ways.
Its original location in Dubai's heritage district, Bastakiya, served as the site for the Bastakiya Art Fair from 2007 to 2010. XVA created and organized this fair in order to raise the profile of contemporary art in Dubai. The gallery is also committed to raising this profile internationally by participating in art fairs in Istanbul and Hong Kong. The gallery opened its new location in the DIFC Gate Village in January, 2011.
XVA offers an extensive list of complementary services for artists to showcase their work in addition to curatorial advice, installation arrangement, exhibition planning, acquiring art and collection management. It also provides art handling services which include transportation.
