Dubai Heritage & Diving Village

Dubai

Culture and Heritage

Set along the banks of the upper end of the Dubai's creek, the village represents the emirate's significant maritime history including its famous pearl diving heritage and its early beginnings as a bustling hub from centuries ago. Today, the village features potters and weavers showcasing their traditional craft, along with various cooking exhibits, shipbuilding exhibits and an assortment of Islamic and Arabic society exhibits. People can also learn about traditional architecture, falconry and Arabic calligraphy while visiting the various mud brick buildings or tent displays in the village. An Arabic restaurant and gift shop are on site, offering traditional Arabic sweets, cuisines and shisha.

The village is worth a visit in the evenings when families and visitors flock to the site for tours and evening meals. Also, the village is known to be busy during the seasonal festivals when dances and nightly events take place to entertain the crowds.
