Traditionally home to the European PGA Tour Event, the Emirates Golf Club is one of the best known and challenging courses in Dubai. The club has two courses; the Wadi Course was built by Nick Faldo and is a little easier than the Majilis Championship Course, which hosts the Dubai Desert Classic.
Carved out of the desert, the course consists of 18 holes, some of which are surrounded by sand and are set to the backdrop of towering skyscrapers. The finishing hole on the course has a 90-degree dog-leg, which provides a great challenge to the background of the Bedouin tent-style clubhouse set over a lake. Emirates Golf Club also houses the Peter Cowen Golf Academy, where players can practice and improve their game. The academy is a world-renowned teaching centre that has great facilities for players of all levels. The clubhouse also provides three restaurants to choose from dishing up delectable cuisine and a range of beverages.
